We are excited to welcome back Visionquest’s Shaun Reeves. Shaun’s track record speaks for itself from his legendary loft parties in Detroit to his formative years alongside Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, and Seth Troxler. His relocation to Berlin was a major stepping stone thanks to playing the likes of Panorama Bar, fabric, DC10, Cityfox, and Robert Johnson among other massive dance floors in the industry. Over the past decade, his label, Visionquest has honed a whole new landscape of lush, organic house and techno, fusing their Detroit roots with a more recent and eclectic raw Berlin influence. 

Iranian born, Montreal based Amir Javasoul has made a name for himself in Montreal, taking the lead of industry veterans such as Ricardo Villalobos as Derek Carter. With only a handful of releases under his belt, he has made a name for himself through his mastery behind the decks. He has played the biggest dance floors including Sunwaves and Stereo alongside Sonja Moonear, Craig Richards, and even a b2b with Ricardo Villalobos.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS: 

Shaun Reeves:

Shaun Reeves is an internationally-acclaimed DJ, producer and label owner. A founding member of the trailblazing group Visionquest, his influence reaches far beyond the cities he has called home and stretches around the globe.

Growing up in Michigan and brought up musically on a diet of house and techno in nearby Detroit, Shaun moved to the city in his late teens and began organizing small club nights and loft parties with his friends.

Upon getting involved in the Detroit Scene, Shaun was immediately influenced heavily by the more minimal sounds from djs/artists such as Daniel Bell, Magda and especially from Zip and the Perlon label. This influence and a search for new inspiration led Shaun to take a summer holiday to Berlin in 2004 that turned into 10 years living in the city. In this time his deft touch as a DJ won him fans on dance floors from Panorama Bar to Fabric, DC10, Robert Johnson and countless other highly influential underground clubs.

Amir Javasoul:

We’re fast approaching 4PM on a crisp but sunny Sunday afternoon in Romania. We’re at Sunwaves Festival. “For a DJ, it really doesn’t get better than this” says Amir with a genuine smile, nearing his 13th hour in the mix. The crowd is very much into it. I’m told by a mutual friend that he had won them over since the early hours of the morning when he dropped Gemini’s “Swimming with Sharks”.

Montreal-based Amir Javasoul is somewhat of a DJ’s DJ. Having grown up in Iran, he moved to Canada at the age of 10 where he learned the ropes of DJing after a Derrick Carter set in the mid-nineties sparked a long- standing affinity with the profession. Since then, and for the past 20 years, he’s been balancing his work as a computer engineer and music selector, maintaining an active touring schedule, both in North America and Europe. He’s a regular mainstay at some of the world’s finest clubs and festivals (Fabric, Stereo, SXM Festival, Output, Uberhaus, Piknik Electronik, Sunwaves, Igloofest to name a few)
