Extended dancefloor hours until 5AM.
This Halloween weekend, travelers and music lovers beware as your voyage takes you through the dark depths of Flash to the alluring sounds of the Siren’s call. The most beautiful and dangerous creatures known to man have created temptations in every corner, transforming the venue into a cave of wonders and the rooftop into this cult’s Psychedelic Garden. Stimulating sights, delicious elixirs, and mesmerizing sounds permeate every level. For thousands of years, the tales of mythical and enchanting creatures have been told to warn you, as no traveler has ever crossed their path without feeling the irresistible music that has enticed one to their doom.
Only the lustful and wicked are welcome to experience Correspondant imprint founder, Jennifer Cardini. She flies across the sea on centaurs from Berlin to host these sacred rituals and steal the hearts of many who fall victim to her dancefloor. New York sends us their deadliest queen, Firehouse label boss, Kim Ann Foxman, whose soundtrack bewitches any mortal. You’ll be hypnotized to tread beyond, making your way to the mesmerizing lush surfaces of the Psychedelic Garden where KMLN (pronounced Chameleon) bend your psyche with their sound and style.
Beautiful sirens, centaurs, minotaurs Lola Villa, Sarah Myers, Edo, Jus’ Nowhere and others will represent the District in this hedonistic night of indulgence. There is no other choice but to throw yourself to the dancefloor or be drowned.
Halloween Prizes:
🧟♂️ Your only redemption should you dare: Come in your deadliest and wickedest attire for the chance to be granted first place: $500 cash prize. Those that follow in best costume shall be gifted a bottle of choice. Choose your poison wisely. 💀🍾
Jennifer Cardini long since outgrew Pulp – the Parisian club where she first made her name– and set off on a mission to take her vision of house music to audiences around Europe and beyond. Over the course of a career spanning of fifteen years, she has delivered DJ sets fusing techno, electro and disco at the world’s most prestigious clubs (Panorama Bar in Berlin, De School in Amsterdam, Lux in Lisbon, Good Room in New York) and hottest festivals (Melt, Nuit Sonores, Burning Man).
Yet her dancefloor philosophy is reflected not only by her sets and the music released on her labels, including electro imprint Correspondant and the more indie oriented Dischi Autunno but also by her engagement in support of the LGBT-community. Based in Berlin following six years in Cologne, Jennifer Cardini continues travelling all around the world transmitting her love for music to us through the dancefloor!
The short-story version of Kim Ann Foxman’s trajectory is pretty simple: An island-born kid dreams of a life in clubland, hits the big city and, with a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work, emerges as one of dance music’s leading figures. But it’s the details that transforms her singular tale into something far more fascinating than the standard-issue success story. After all, what other DJ can lay claim to the title of Miss Teen Filipina Hawaii? How many can say that their first job in nightlife was when in high school, serving as the in-house dancer and serving rave smoothies at an all-ages club? How many, after moving to New York by way of San Francisco in the early ’00s, can say that they helped to rejuvenate the city’s then-stale nightlife via her residency at one of the best parties ever held in a hole-in-the-wall gay bar, the Mad Clams affair? How many have tasted stardom as one of the original members of the scene-making dance-music collective Hercules and Love Affair?
Exactly one, and it’s Kim Ann. But it’s a safe bet that she would have made it to where she is today without those biographical eccentricities, because her near-classical take on jacking club rhythms is hard to resist, sounding as fantastic at a full-scale mega-rave as it does at a grimy basement bash. It’s a universally appealing sound that’s taken her around the world—the past few years have seen her playing such hallowed halls as Fabric, Berghain, DC-10, Concrete and Contact, all while holding down a residency at her hometown’s Good Room.
A lifetime in clubbing has informed Kim Ann’s studio work as well, with her music—much of it coming out on her own Firehouse label—synthesizing the best elements of raw house, propulsive 303 material, emotive techno and even the occasional hint of trance into a hugely satisfying whole that lives somewhere between the weird and the wonderful. And then there’s her latest project, Pleasure Planet, which sees her teaming with Andrew Potter and Brian Hersey to add sparkling touches of extraterrestrial new wave to the mix on her new sublabel, self:timer. It’s yet another twist in the continuing saga of Kim Ann Foxman—and, we’d wager, there are plenty more to come.
In the Burning Man of 8 years gone by, a story of two wanderers with a history for cross-pollinating the sounds of yesterday with the sounds of tomorrow found their moment. With a shared taste in gourmet percussion, deep and rare rhythms, and cosmic culture, what resulted was KMLN — one of the most time-bending and pulsating acts currently
circulating the global deep-eclectic house dance movement.
The international shapeshifting duo, KMLN (pronounced “Kameleon”) unites Italian producer/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tooker and Canadian /producer Shawna Hofmann. Find them singing, playing live bass, percussion, looping or guest musicians, you never know what to expect, every show is different. As interplanetary travelers and cultural explorers, the KMLN ship bends reality through sound, moving through tempos with layers and layers of mind altering colors. Last year alone, the KMLN ship landed in over 21 countries worldwide. Their shows have been experienced at some of the most respected festivals including The BPM Festival, Miami Music Week, Amsterdam Dance Event, Lightning in a Bottle, Global Eclipse, Art With Me, Summit Series, Air Festival, Art Basel, Symbiosis Gathering, Shambhala, Wonderfruit, The Gardens Of Babylon, Subsonic, Meadows in the Mountains and legendaryBurning Man art cars such as Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior. Venues worth mentioning are Watergate, The Brooklyn Mirage, Flash Club, Klein, The Grand Factory, Scorpios, Woomoon, Papaya Playa, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, Monarch, Public Works, Katerblau, Open Studios and Sisyphos. With continuous support received from artists such as Solomun, Acid Pauli, Damian Lazarus, &ME, Rampa, David Meyer, Bedouin, they've also collaborated musically with artists including Mira, Nico Stojan, NU, Sabo, Viken Arman, Francesca Lombardo, Eduardo de La Calle, Christopher Schwarzwalder and their music is found on labels such as Crosstown Rebels , Sol Selectas, Bar25, Touch of Class and Endless.
